After 40+ years of being an artist and creative person, and 25+ years of being involved in business, there are some things I've learned.

One, we are far happier and more effective in our lives and work when we do the things we are meant to do. When we use the skills and abilities we have been given, when we work in the areas of our dreams and interests.

Two, we weren't meant to do everything ourselves. We live in a society that prizes independence very highly. And artists and business people can be some of the most independent people there are.

But that comes at a price. When we try to do it all, we often end up spending more time on the things we don't do well and less on the things we are best at.

The result? We are poorer because of that.

Financially because we aren't doing what we do best - the things that make us the best income.

And emotionally because too much of our energy goes into struggling and getting frustrated with the things that have to be done that we just aren't good at.

Let's face it. We aren't good at everything.

We may even be good at a lot of things. But there are always some things we aren't good at.

So what are the not-good-at things that are keeping you from being free to do your best? What are the things that would make life better for you?

This may go against most people's way of doing business - but if I don't feel that I can help you in a way that will truly benefit you, then I don't want to work with you.

Yes, I want to make money. I'm not doing this as a charity. I need to pay the bills and all those good things too. But it matters deeply to me that I earn my money fairly by providing help and service that truly benefits my clients.

Before we work together I will do all I can to make sure that I can help you in a way that will benefit you. I want you to feel that you more than got your money's worth by working with me.

So I will explore what it is you feel you want or need. I will find out how getting that will benefit you. Then, if you are clear about what you want and why, and if I am satisfied that I can do that for you, then we will go ahead and work together to get that for you.
