This Japanese bound book contains a series of sample pages I did in a calligraphy class I took.
Why the long strings on the binding? The story goes that invoice & receipt booklets such as these were used by Japanese business men in local villages. Because of the frequency of fires in the villages, if fire broke out, the booklets were quickly taken to the well and hung from nails inside the well to keep them safe.
